Notes from the author, DEMO-Ba: The x2ftp.oulu.fi version
---------------------------------------------------------
'ello.
I was chatting with Jouni (jon@stekt.oulu.fi =) the other day about the
x2ftp.oulu.fi Game Programmers' FTP-site when it occured to me that I
still had the source code to an old BBS demo I did last year. I'd even
already packed up it sent out copies to a few local BBS several months back.
At any rate, this is that same zip-file except that:
1) I patched together this X2FTP.1ST file and recompressed everything.
2) I removed all the .LBM files, since they were the same as the .BMPs (drew
the graphics with DPAINT II of course...) and also got rid of a few
files that didn't serve any purpose.
3) I went in and changed the graphic that had the number to the Forgotten
Realms BBS since they haven't been up for almost three-quarters of a
year. =)
4) Added TMG.GIF, the logo for THE MINIMALIST GROUP.
Added YAZZIE13.GIF (which is yet another picture of my poor lost kitty =)
5) Added some new legals... Oops! =) The x2ftp.oulu.fi CD-ROM is now
basically the only CD you're going to find this program on. :)
Beyond this, the files have not changed at all since I first made them long
long months ago. So don't laugh at the code. Please? hey! Quite snickering!
I've got much better since then! HONEST!! =) =)
-------------------- LEGAL DOGMA FOLLOWS -----------------------------
THE FORGOTTEN REALMS demo-B
Written by The Minimalist Group the week concluding on 6/8/94.
Copyright (c) 1994. All Rights Reserved.
The program and it's files are FREEWARE. The only reason it is not
in the public domain however is that I don't want any "newbie" people
changing a few lines of code on me and claiming it's thiers (which, if
this was public domain, they legally could).
So I (the author) choose to retain all applicable rights to protect
against such situations. Beyond that, you are free to use the source
code (not the graphics, however) to make your own demo. Enjoy.
The graphics, as best I recall, were either both drawn by me, or
scanned in from old photos I took and painstainingly modified to get
the "ruined castle" look I was looking for.
Permission has been granted (from the author) for the x2ftp.oulu.fi
/pub/msdos/programming site to use this archive in any CD-ROM it
produces. =)

The Forgotten Realms BBS is now long dead....but the demo lives on. |-)
This archive contains the originally released executables to the
program known as "THE FORGOTTEN REALMS BBS demo-B". It *ALSO* contains
the *FULL* source code in C++/inline along with a few support programs,
and bitmap graphics. |-)
Why? Good question. Mainly cause looking at the code now...it makes no
real "threat" to release it now. It's kinda archaic and badly written
in other words. It was TMG's very first demo after all. All in 80186
code nuzzled in a C++ frame...no sound support. Ug.

THE MINIMALIST GROUP: coming very late '95: THE WARS IN DARKNESS
coming '96/97: THE THRONE OF GOD (God willing =)
ANNEX (the demo group associated with TMG):
coming 3 '96: THE PROMETHEOUS UNBOUND Demo!
(assuming I get the CRONUS music player finished... :( )
